1. Information We Collect
We may collect, use, store, and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have grouped together as follows:
- Identity Data: Includes first name, last name, or similar identifier provided during registration (e.g., via Sign in with Apple).
- Contact Data: Includes email address.
- Technical Data: Includes internet protocol (IP) address, device type, operating system, and App version.
- Usage Data: Includes information about how you interact with our art collections and app features.
- Device Permissions (Camera & Photos): With your explicit permission, we access your device’s camera for Augmented Reality (AR) features and your photo library to allow you to update your profile picture.
2. TrueDepth API, ARKit, and Face Data Usage
To provide our Augmented Reality (AR) experience—allowing you to visualize artworks on your walls—NOUV utilizes your device’s Camera and Apple’s ARKit / TrueDepth API.
Collection and Use: The TrueDepth API is used exclusively for spatial mapping, depth, and surface detection to place digital artwork accurately in your physical environment. We do NOT collect, use, record, or track any user face data, facial expressions, or biometric information.
Disclosure and Sharing: We do not disclose or share any data collected by the TrueDepth API or ARKit with any third parties, advertising networks, analytics providers, or external servers.
Storage and Retention: All environmental mapping and AR processing occur strictly locally on your device in real-time. No AR data, depth maps, camera feeds, or face data are ever transmitted to our servers, stored remotely, or stored locally. All TrueDepth data is instantly discarded the moment you close the AR camera view. We have a strict zero-retention policy for this data.
3. How We Use Your Data
We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to, primarily to:
- Create and manage your NOUV account.
- Provide the core functionalities of the app, including projecting artworks via AR.
- Deliver push notifications regarding new curated collections (via Firebase).
- Improve our app's performance and user experience.
4. Third-Party Services
We use trusted, industry-standard third-party service providers to operate our app securely and efficiently. These external services only have access to your Personal Data to perform specific tasks on our behalf and are legally obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. The categories of third-party providers we use include:
- Cloud Hosting & Database Providers: To securely manage user authentication, protect credentials, and store app data using encrypted infrastructure.
- Communication & Monitoring Services: To deliver essential push notifications and monitor app stability to ensure a crash-free experience.
- Content Delivery Networks (CDNs): To ensure high-resolution media and assets load quickly and securely across all regions.
These service providers act as data processors and are strictly bound by their own stringent privacy and global security protocols.
5. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for. You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time. You can do this directly within the NOUV app by navigating to Settings > Delete Account. Upon requesting deletion, all your Identity and Contact Data will be permanently removed from our active databases.
6. Data Transfer
Your information may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, or country where the data protection laws may differ. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place by using globally compliant providers like Supabase.
7. Security
The security of your Personal Data is important to us. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means (such as encrypted connections and secure authentication) to protect your Personal Data, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
